As debates over literacy, voting rights, and civic participation continue to shape our country, this forum will explore why these issues remain deeply connected. In addition to discussing what it will take to strengthen our democracy.

For generations, Martha's Vineyard has provided space for Black communities to exchange ideas, build relationships, and advance change. That tradition makes it a fitting place to consider how we move forward together.

The program will begin with a viewing of the film Love, Joy & Power: Tools for Liberation, followed by a conversation with leaders in voting rights, literacy, philanthropy, and community organizing from Black Voters Matter. Moderated by Joy Reid of The Joy Reid Show.
